1. Who We Are

RideLink is operated by Rezotech, a technology company based in Kenya. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the RideLink mobile application and website at ride.rezotech.co.ke.

By using RideLink you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Information We Collect

When you register and use RideLink we collect the following:

• Your phone number, name, username, and profile photo
• Your location, expressed as a city or area name you provide
• Posts, comments, photos, and ride details you share on the app
• Marketplace listings you create, including item descriptions and prices
• Device information including your device model and operating system version
• Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens used to send you push notifications
• Payment records when you subscribe to RideLink Premium via M-Pesa, including transaction references and amounts
• Reports you submit about other users or content

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To display your posts, profile, and listings to other users
• To send you push notifications about activity on your account
• To process Premium subscription payments through M-Pesa
• To moderate content and enforce our community guidelines
• To respond to reports of abuse or policy violations
• To improve the app and fix issues based on usage patterns
• To communicate important updates about the service to you

4. Third Party Services

RideLink uses the following third party services that may process your data:

• Firebase (Google) — used for push notifications and authentication. Google's privacy policy applies at policies.google.com/privacy
• Safaricom M-Pesa — used to process Premium subscription payments. Safaricom's privacy policy applies for payment data

We do not sell your personal data to any third party for advertising or marketing purposes.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted in the cloud. We use industry standard practices to protect your information including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data transfers between your device and our servers.

Passwords are never stored. Access to your account is secured through phone number verification. We limit internal access to personal data to only what is necessary for operating the service.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently delete your profile, posts, comments, listings, and ride records within 30 days. Payment records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by Kenyan financial regulations. Anonymised, aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.

7. Your Rights

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019 and applicable law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Object to or restrict how we process your data
• Withdraw consent at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@rezotech.co.ke or delete your account directly from within the app under Settings.

8. Children

RideLink is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes we will notify you through the app or by displaying the updated date above. Continued use of RideLink after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
